Justin Rose claimed his first Major Championship victory at the US Open Championship at Merion moving up 2 places in the Official World Golf Ranking to 3rd, equalling his career high. The Englishman closed with a 70 giving him a one over par total and enough to finish two clear of Jason Day and Phil Mickelson. Day climbs 10 positions to World Number 16 and Mickelson 4 positions to World Number 6. Japan's Hideki Matsuyama closed with a 67 and his tied 10th finish sees him enter the World Top 50 in 49th position.

Harris English birdied two of his final three holes and fought off the challenge of Phil Mickelson and Scott Stallings to clinch a maiden PGA Tour victory at the FedEx St Jude Classic. English birdied 16 and 17 and finished on 12-under-par while Stallings dropped a shot on 18 to finish on 10-under-par alongside Mickelson who birdied 18. English moves intot eh World Top 100 for the first time with a 55 spot jump to World Number 84.

Week 22 - MATT KUCHAR MOVES TO WORLD NUMBER FOUR WITH VICTORY AT THE MEMORIAL

Matt Kuchar retained a two shot overnight lead to win the Memorial tournament at Muirfield Village. The 34 year old birdied all four par fives at the Dublin, Ohio resort as he closed with a four under par round of 68 for a 12 under total of 276. Kevin Chappell finished in second place alone after also carding a 68. Kuchar jumps 5 places to a career high of World Number 4.

Mikko Ilonen won his first European Tour title for six years at the Nordea Masters at Bro Hof Slott in Sweden. A three under par 69 ensured a 21 under total and three shot victory margin over Sweden’s Jonas Blixt, with Austria’s Bernd Wiesberger in third place. Ilonen moves 45 positions higher in the Official World Golf Ranking to 69th.

Italy's Matteo Manassero became the youngest ever winner of the BMW PGA Championship as he claimed his fourth European Tour title at the age of 20 on the fourth hole of a sudden-death play-off. Manassero, Scotland's Marc Warren and 2010 champion Simon Khan went into extra holes after finishing tied on 10 under par at Wentworth Club, with Khan setting the clubhouse target after a closing 66 that no one could overtake. The win takes Manassero to World Number 28 an improvement of 29 positions.
